Perfect location, lovely house.

Travel Beach House was promised to be ready between 14:00 - 19:00, however on arrival at 18:00 it was a total mess with the cleaning crew still busy, and apparently doing their own laundry. We had to assist the crew in removing trash from the previous occupants. The propane gas tank is almost empty, without clear instructions on how to operate the stove when load shedding is in effect. There is apparently no general service with access to local channels for the TV, only access to Netflix? Bathtub plumbing in all the bathrooms is not completed - so basically showers are the only option. In summary - a great location, and a beautiful house but a lot more can be done by the owner to make international visitors comfortable, and a few instructional pamphlets with how to operate kitchen appliances, TV etc. will help.

Thank you Abrie for the feedback. I will from now onwards stick to our policy to not allow bookings within 2 days of the last booking unless they are special circumstances. We will endeavor to help make the stay a memorable experience for future guests.

However, I would like to respond in my defense to your review:

Abrie requested to book Travel Beach House from 6 - 15 January 2023. I specifically told him that the 6th was not available and he could check in from the 7th as my previous guests will be leaving at 11.00 am on the 6th and the place needed to be cleaned thoroughly, which usually takes two days. He explained that he would be arriving on the 6th and would not mind if the cleaning staff was there when he arrived so I unfortunately agreed.

When Abrie’s Sister arrived the place was spotless but the cupboard in the kitchen was still to be cleaned. What she was unhappy about was the condiments in the cupboard and some sauces in the fridge (which I leave specifically for my guests’ use so they do not need to spend extra for salt, sugar, herbs, tomato Sauce, Soya, etc).

Abrie and his sisters reported that there was no gas in the Tank. I asked him please to check in the garage as there was a full Tank there.

We arrived the next morning and found that there was gas in the connected Tank and all was working well with electricity and without, but we connected the full Tank anyhow.

I had no idea that they did not know how to operate the Gas Stove. He could have asked. I am very approachable and happy to help.

I went out of my way to assist Abrie and respond to every single query that he and his sisters had. We spoke daily. He seemed happy in between, which is my job with pleasure.

The House is a Beach House and we only have showers working which are mentioned on the site. I have not connected the baths because of our short water supply in Cape Town.

Great view, beautiful house and easy access to beach and clubhouse pool.

Beautiful scenery and the layout of the house was perfect for travelling with kids. Each room had an en-suite which is very convenient. The easy access to the beach was wonderful for walks and relaxing on the beach. Would definitely recommend the Travel Beach House to family and friends!
