Description
Surrounded by imposing mountains and set deep into the Karooscape, this gracious thatch and stone house is reminiscent of a colonial hunting lodge. It houses an extensive collection of antiques and collectibles. The double-volume living area invites you to sink into big leather sofas in front of a massive fireplace, with wine, books and board games. The formal dining table can comfortably seat 12 people, so plan for decadent meals. There are 3 beautiful double bedrooms and an upstairs loft that is perfect for children and sleeps 6. The large master bedroom contains a king-size bed and 2 single beds, and an en-suite bath and stunning outside shower. The second and third bedrooms each contain a king-size bed and an en-suite bathroom with a shower. There is a fourth smaller bedroom with a double bed, and a bathroom with a shower nearby. The upstairs dormitory-style loft has 6 single beds, ideal for children. The kitchen is well-equipped with a gas stove and fridge. Lights are provided by solar power. Outside, expect to relax on the deep verandah, or in the luxurious outside lounge and bar. There is a wonderful braai area on the outside patio which boasts another massive dining table for long lunches. A fire pit, a viewing deck and hidden hammocks offer other areas to while away the hours under the Karoo skies. A swimming pool that is fed by a borehole, is unfiltered and without chemicals, offers an eco-swimming experience. A beautiful indigenous-treed garden attracts a wide variety of bird life. This is home for family and friends to relax and socialise, for children to play all day and with more than enough space for stressed out workaholics to retreat and chill. No children under 12 years old.
