The service was very friendly but I feel things are being advertised that are not in operation. The location is central and very close to town if you can find something to do there in Saldanha.

Good morning Natasha,. I hope you are well and that you had a lovely weekend. I felt I should give some feedback regarding our stay at Vintour. 1. We made arrangements with Hughleen to clock in at 13h00. (I have the e-mail if you need it. )  When we got there we were turned away and we may not have checked in until 16h00. There is nothing to do on Saldanha and it cost us to drive to Vredenburg to entertain the children there until 16h00 before the Weskus Mall. 2. The website says there are bath facilities but our family room's bath was out of order. The tub plug is stuck in the tub. The sink in the room also had no hot water, only the shower had hot water. 3. The toilet seat was broken. 4.   My parents came to watch the kiddies on Saturday night for me and my husband to go out. It was said on the website that there was DSTV and my parents wanted to watch the rugby. There was no DSTV, Netflix or any other channels available in the room. All the amenities said "payment outstanding". We wanted to watch a movie on Sunday night and the DSTV only has channel 100 and Netflix didn't work. 5.   We had to go and buy our own toilet paper. 6.   The internet connection was very weak and during the rugby that my father had to watch on his phone, it kept crashing. 7.   The balcony off the family room is unsafe and I would not advise people with small children to stay there. . Hughleen and her husband were very friendly. I just feel that there are things being advertised on the website that are not.

Did not meet my expectations.

There were quite a few issues experienced. Despite booking the Triple Room, we were checked into the Triple Room: Mountain View. Upon querying I was told that there are only two Triple Rooms and that rooms are allocated on a first-come, first-serve basis. This did not make sense as both rooms are available to be booked separately on the website. The Triple Room: Mountain View is not what I booked and to be honest requires a lot of maintenance. The sliding door for example is completely unusable, many fixtures are broken e. g the curtain rod and things in the bathroom, and the shower pressure is very low. The towels initially provided were stained, and a second set requested also had a few stains. The parking at the back of the guesthouse is up a very steep slope and extremely tight. It requires a lot of manoeuvring and I would have expected this to be mentioned in the description of the property. By far the biggest issue I had though was the balance of the payment. I had initially paid the 50% deposit via the website, which was not an issue. Upon arrival, no mention of the outstanding payment was made which led me to believe that it would be due upon checkout as is the norm at other establishments. On the 3rd day of my 6-day stay, I received a call telling me that the outstanding balance must be paid immediately with cash. I queried if I can rather do an EFT or pay online via the website as I was out and unable to draw cash, and was told that it is strictly cash only "by management" latest by the next morning. This not only severely inconvenienced me as I now had to cut time out of my plans to go to the bank and draw cash, but also posed a huge safety risk as I needed to be out and about with a significant amount of money on me. The following morning on my way out to draw the cash, I was again accosted for the payment and despite me voicing my concerns, was again told that it is only cash and no attempt at all was made to accommodate a payment via EFT or credit card via the website. The only positive aspect of my stay was Connie who was always ready to assist with help and cleaning the rooms. Other than that I would definitely not be staying at Vintour ever again.

My short stay was quite peaceful.

On arrival, I was met by a friendly staff member, and the reception area I observed immediately the sea views and the immaculate neat, clean and tidy surfaces and area. The bedding was clean and fresh - hotel standards. Well done!
