Whale View Self-catering Apartment

See-uitsig fantasties.

Ons het baie lekker gebly, maar net 1 toiletpapier rol was vir 4 mense gelos. Dit maak dit baie ongemaklik, veral as jy nie die area ken en moet dringend ry. Dit is wel self-catering, maar ek dink tog daar kan koffie, suiker en melk vir gaste gelos word. Die woonstel het bietjie aandag nodig, maar verder is die sea view fantasties.

Baie rustig. En mooi skoon.

Vars lug, ruik. Die see. Sien die see. Baie lekker en rustig.

Dit was okay maar sal definitief nie weer by 51 in book nie.

Het oraait gebly. Daar was nie lekker kommunikasie nie. Moes ook 'n hele ruk wag om in te check. Die nommer was ook verkeerd van die agent. En daar was nie braaigeriewe op die dek nie, moes self braaitoerusting gaan koop. Moes self wynglase ook gaan koop. DStv was die nag binne in my kinders se gesig afgesit. Die skuifdeur was stukkend en die gordyne. Moes ook my eie toiletpapier gaan koop. Die agent het nie geweet van my verblyf toe ek vrae vir my deposito nie. Het 'n e-pos gestuur oor my deposito, maar geen terugvoering gekry nie. Wag nou nog vir my deposito.

Die woonstel was netjies, maar die breuke was nie reggestel voor ons aankoms nie.

Ons was baie teleurgestel. Geen kommunikasie met die eienaar nie. Baie oproepe gemaak met aankoms, maar die eienaar het nie opgetel nie. Daar was breuke wat ons aangemeld het, maar die eienaar het nie gereageer nie. Handdoeke en komberse het opgradering nodig. Ons het ons eie gaan koop, asook ons eie skoonmaakmiddels, vadoeke, lugverskoner, ens.

Our 23rd wedding anniversary with our kids was not a very pleasant stay.

When we were on our way and contacted the owner she advised that she did not get any confirmation and that her apartment is fully booked for the weekend. She said that there is a problem with the website confirming dates that are already booked. I told her that I made a payment for the weekend and it was confirmed and I got a confirmation back, I told her that we are 30 minutes away and I have 2 children with me and we have nowhere else to stay. She then said that this was not her problem and that we could just stay the Friday night but must check out the next morning. I told her that this was very unprofessional and her tone. I called the owner back and she said oh yes that is still open. Not once did she even say sorry or apologise. She just said her cleaner would open for us. When we got there the cleaner was there to give us the keys. After about an hour we were met by ants and cockroaches coming out of the kitchen cupboards. I then sent the cleaner a message to ask what was happening here. She said that the owner had to get someone to fumigate the place but it was not done yet. We were really upset about this. My husband wanted to leave with the kids but we had nowhere to go so late. My kids were scared to sleep thinking they would crawl over them in their sleep. Then Saturday morning my husband was opening the sliding door and one of the screws came out and the glass on top of the door came loose. We informed the cleaner but the owner then sent a message about 2 hours later and said it was too late to send out someone and that we should just handle to door with caution. The coaches in the lounge are hard and also not comfortable to sit on for long. They should upgrade.

Dit was glad nie waarde vir my geld nie.

Ons was deur niemand ontvang toe ons daar aangekom het nie nadat iemand ons sou ontvang het. Toe ons die eienaar bel, was sy baie ongeduldig toe sy moes verduidelik hoe ons die deur oopkry. Daar was nie WiFi nie, ook nie toiletpapier in die toilet nie, soos geadverteer nie. Toe ek die eienaar bel, wou sy hê ek moes bel om die WiFi uit te sorteer. Die TV het ook nie gewerk nie, en ons het eers laat die Saterdagmiddag 1 kanaal gehad.

Teleurgestel.

Daar is konstruksie naby die eenheid aan die gang met 'n lawaai deur die dag. Breekdeposito word vooraf vereis, maar meer as 2 weke later wag ek steeds vir die eienaar vir my terugbetaling.

Uiters swak reaksies van eienaar.

Eerstens vat dit haar 4 ure om die DSTV te aktiveer, so ek mis toe Sondag se krieket en rugby. Tweedens reageer sy eers 11 uur die volgende oggend op my derde boodskap oor die mikrogolfoond wat nie werk nie. Eers nog 'n dag later bring sy 'n ander mikrogolf. Derdens was ons sonder wifi tot die derde dag. Nie een keer het sy om verskoning gevra vir haar laat antwoorde of die ongerief wat ons verduur het nie. Haar arrogante antwoord was "I am not at your beck and call". Bly liewers weg. Daar is ander verblyfplekke in dieselfde kompleks wat goedkoper is.

Unsafe, no railing to walk on the footpaths.

My sister had an accident when we walked on the footpath where there was no railing. She fell straight down onto her face and arms. After a long battle getting her to safety we had to carry her to our car. It was our very first day and the owner of 51 Whale View blatantly refused to refund us at all. She did not even wanted to give us a day or two before paying our breakage deposit and being so cruel will never ever get a good report from me or my family. We left in such a hurry that we actually left all our meat in the freezer which I told the housekeeper she can keep.

Value for money is questionable.

We booked Whale View because of the main picture - view of the ocean, and some supported pics. These are good and are the actual pics. Ocean view is awesome, 180 degree and the angle of the waves crashing against the rocks really awesome. Beds were very comfy and we slept very comfortably. The security guy at entry was exceptionally professional and friendly, helpful and a great first contact on site. We were awakened with the sound of maintenance at 8:30 am (drilling against the wall behind my bed) while this won't happen to everyone, I am not happy that they booked me into a place where they knew my wake-up call would be the sound of a power-drill. We arrived on a chilly winters afternoon. There are no heaters / heating provided (no heaters or bed warmer electric blankets). Our guests had to use the blankets to stay warm and enter cold beds (at this price, a warm blanket would be a great idea!). We were comparing this place to others in the same area, and the value for money is questionable when you consider a self catering apartment (2 bedroom), with and "out of main town area" location, to those in town, with a similar / better view, and better things within view or walking distance. The price wasn't justified - even without the noisy wake-up call. While the picture shows you are "right on the beach", most people will have a few cottages before them - privately owned. So your access to the beach is around these privately owned cottages. The view is elevated, so you see the ocean and everything, but the perception of on the beach is different to mine.- Couches seem dated - have covers on them, allowing them to be protected, but it seems tacky - wasn't a fan. The couch in the picture, with a throw-over on them.

Baie teleurgesteld!

Die advertensie was vir 'n grondvloer-eenheid wat 20 m van die see af is. Die eenheid is egter op die eerste vloer en baie verder as 20 m van die see af. Die tarief wat ek betaal het regverdig glad nie wat geadverteer is nie. Groot teleurstelling teen dubbel die prys van ander eenhede in die "estate".

Te duur, geen braai by eenheid.
