House Rules

Please note that White Sparrow Villa is not a party house. We cater to guests seeking a peaceful and quiet retreat, surrounded by nature. We kindly ask that you maintain a calm and serene atmosphere during your stay.
Marloth Park is a unique, registered wildlife conservancy with strict regulations in place to protect both the environment and the peace of the community. As such, loud noises, including music, are prohibited. Noise tends to travel further in the bush than in urban areas, so please be considerate of your neighbours. Keep noise levels to a minimum at all times, especially after dark. This rule is strictly enforced by Marloth Park Law Enforcement Officers from 6:00 PM onwards.
The house operates on a small solar powered system, except for the air conditioning. We provide 35 units of electricity per day for the entire house, specifically for air conditioning use. If you exceed this allowance, additional prepaid electricity will need to be purchased.
During load shedding, the air conditioners will not function, but we have provided rechargeable fans that can last up to 8 hours to help keep you comfortable.
We ask that you leave the house in a clean state upon check-out. Please wash your dishes, dispose of any trash, and return furniture or items to their original positions.
For everyone's safety, always ensure that windows and doors are properly closed and locked, especially when they are out of your direct line of sight. This precaution helps protect both you and your belongings.
Baboons are clever and persistent housebreakers. When leaving the property, make sure all windows, doors, curtains, and security doors are securely closed and locked. While baboons are a common concern, it is also a good practice to exercise general safety and awareness, just as you would in any city, even though we are in the bush.
Marloth Park is home to some potentially dangerous snakes. Please remain vigilant when walking under trees, entering or exiting the property, or getting in and out of your vehicle. An emergency contact list for snake removal services is available on the fridge. Your safety is our priority, please stay alert.
Guests are responsible for supervising their children at all times, both inside the property and outside. The surrounding bush is home to various wildlife, and some animals can be dangerous. Always ensure that children are within sight and safe.
Lastly, due to local infrastructure challenges such as weather conditions, cable theft, and other factors beyond the control of the property owner, we maintain a no-refund policy for disruptions to electricity, water, or Wi-Fi services. We closely monitor and work to resolve these issues in collaboration with local authorities, ensuring that you are kept informed throughout your stay.
