Close by the Wellington wine valley is the boutique vineyard and Alkmaar wine farm. Here, the superb hand-crafted wines are created with love and attention to detail and each grape plucked is checked for the finest quality. Though they only have a small vineyard, they’ve been around for over a century, and the original owner, Marinus Jacobus Stucki, created one of the very first schools in the district, on his very own farm grounds.

Alkmaar’s wine range thus bears the name “Old School” and they presently have three ranges on the market. The “Master Class of 2005” is composed of Cabernet, with Merlot and Petit Verdot to compliment it. The “Master Class of 2006” is a Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon and Franc blend. Their “Master Class of 2007” is a Cabernet Sauvignon blend with Merlot and Cab Franc Their white wine range was started in 2009 and is dubbed "Reunion Class of 2009" - this un-oaked Chardonnay is a heady blend of citrus and tropical scents, with a rich lemon and melon taste.
