Camphors At Vergelegen
Description
Camphors at Vergelegen is an award-winning restaurant overlooking the expansive lawns and gardens of Vergelegen Estate, in the Helderberg region of Cape Town. Named after the wine farm’s ancient camphor trees that have guarded the historic Homestead for over 300 years old, the signature eatery was recently revamped and highly celebrated Chef PJ Vadas was appointed executive chef.
The menu shows simple restraint with complex precision. Vergelegen produces classical wine varietals and the menu reflects a modern take on international and local classical food dishes, specifically designed to support local producers.
The restaurant was recently awarded top Wine Tourism Restaurant in the 2013 Great Wine Capitals (GWC) Best of Wine Tourism Awards, and was named one of South Africa’s Top 10 Restaurants in the 2013 Eat Out DStv Food Network Restaurant Awards.
