Clifton Third Beach

Victoria Road, Clifton, Cape Town, Western Cape

Description

Clifton is an affluent area comprised of four separate beach coves, numbered one through four, along Cape Town’s Atlantic seaboard. Clifton 1, 2, 3, and 4 are separated by large boulders and offer stretching white sands and icy turquoise waters. Clifton’s beaches were rated as one of Discovery Travel Channel’s top ten beaches for 2003 and 2004.

Clifton Third is a lovely beach located just around the corner from the more famous Clifton Fourth Beach, along Cape Town’s Atlantic Seaboard in the Western Cape. It is quite a lot smaller and is suitable for people who appreciate a little more privacy as it’s not nearly as busy as its neighbour. Ablution facilities are available at First and Fourth Beaches, while a kiosk and umbrella or lounger rentals are also available at Fourth Beach.

Like all the other Clifton beaches, Clifton Third is accessed from the road by a steep set of stairs or by walking along the other beaches. Parking can be limited in the height of summer, so be sure to arrive early to get a good spot.
