Durban Haematology Hospital is a private specialist hospital owned and operated by the Capital Hospital Group. Hospital facilities include 18 Adult high care isolation suites, 2 ICU isolation suites, 6 Paediatric high care isolation suites and 8 Oncology sub-acute beds.

GETTING THERE

The hospital is situated at 95 King Cetshwayo Highway, Westridge in Durban, KwaZulu Natal. Nearby main roads are the N3 to the North of the hospital as well as the M10 to the North-West. The hospital shares its premises with the Durban Oncology Centre, a pathology laboratory and a radiology practice. It is located 4km North-West of Durban central along the N3 highway.

PAYMENTS

Fees for Medical Aid patients are charged in accordance with the scale of benefits and, where possible, will be submitted directly to the Medical Aid Scheme for payment.

Services rendered by patient’s Anaesthetist, Pathologist, Radiologist and Haematologist or other specialists are not included in the hospital bill and will be invoiced separately by the practice concerned.

Medical Aid schemes differ in payment restrictions and benefits. Patients should verify these with their Medical Aid scheme prior to admission as the hospital cannot accept responsibility for charges levied which fall outside of their scale of benefits. The hospital cannot intervene on the patient’s behalf and all queries concerning benefits covered should be addressed directly to the Medical Aid company and/or medical practitioner involved.

If patient receives payment for their hospitalisation directly from their Medical Aid, patient should contact the hospital Accounts Department to arrange payment of their hospital account. The hospital accepts bank guaranteed cheques, credit cards and travellers’ cheques.
