Het Land Van Waveren

Description

Het Land Van Waveren is a quirky curio shop and restaurant found along Church Street in Tulbagh, just an hour and a half's drive from Cape Town. Visitors are easily drawn into the shop by the eclectic arts and crafts scattered across the lawn in front of the building, such as wheelbarrows filled with "stickmen" with blackboards, a zebra print covered bench, bicycle and basket, heart shaped wall decor, clothing, and homemade pot plants.

Step inside and be welcomed by shelves upon shelves of bits and bobs, from paintings, gifts, and books, to preserves, bakes, and arts and crafts. Several bowls are filled with incense and smelling stones you can buy per weight, and jewellery stands offer homemade beads and bracelets.

To the left of the curio shop is a restaurant where you can enjoy reading the various quotes scribbled over the wall-sized blackboard. Quotes, poems and pancake recipes meet the menu where you can select cake of the day, pancakes, coffee, and tea, and other tasty bakes.
