Description
La Rochelle Girls' High School, also known as La Rochelle Hoër Meisieskool is a public dual-medium school for girls in Paarl, Western Cape. The school caters for girls from Grade 8 to Grade 12 and has over 500 students. Younger girls are accommodated at the adjacent La Rochelle Girls’ Primary School. Boarding facilities are available for approximately 200 girls.
HERITAGE
La Rochelle Meisies was established in 1860 with 40 girls along with a seminary for young ladies for the daughters of people living in the Paarl area. It is one of the oldest girls’ schools in South Africa.
ACADEMICS
La Rochelle Meisies is a dual medium school with an equal split between English and Afrikaans learners. The school has achieved a 100% pass rate in the Matric exams. The school motto is En Avant which means “Forward”.
