Marloth Park
Description
Marloth Park is a residential game reserve situated between Malelane and Komatipoort,in Mpumalanga. It is unique in the fact that visitors may walk, cycle, or run with the plains game that live freely in the reserve. Marloth Park has a 15km common boundary (The Crocodile River) with the southern Kruger National Park, and offers some marvelous trials along the mighty Crocodile River and many back roads and trails.
Big 5 game viewing on the river is available and visitors are sometimes even treated to seeing the odd "kill" by some of the lions that inhabit the area. The river is teaming with pods of hippo, crocodile, and water bird.
Marloth Park has a substantial population of plains game including giraffe, kudu, bushbuck, zebra, wildebeest, impala, duiker, and warthog. Over 380 spices have been identified in the park and bird viewing is made easy by the fact that one can walk around and get up-close and personal. Interaction with the animals occurs often and many visitors get the opportunity to treat a zebra with a carrot or a warthog with a bag of dried miellies.
