Neethlingshof
Description
While Neetlinghof is primarily one of Stellenbosch's top wine estates, it is also know for its cuisine. The Lord Neethling Restaurant serves traditional South African and international cuisine, all presented in the beautiful manor house of a South African farm.
When the Stellenbosch wine route began in the early 1970s it was dominated by the three historic estates of Delheim, Simonsig and Spier. Today, however, a multitude of estates in the region offer wine tasting and cellar tours for a reasonable fee. Because of the number of wine tasting stops in Stellenbosch, most tourists choose to visit just a few estates and typically eat lunch at one of the fine estate restaurants. Today, favourite stops on the route include Delheim, Ernie Els Wines, Morgenhoff, Neethlingshof, Saxenburg, Spier Estate, Thelema, and Tokara (although some can only be visited by appointment).
