No. 7 Castle Hill Museum is a fascinating museum located in Port Elizabeth, Eastern Cape. Built in 1827, it was once a Settlers cottage and is now a museum, famous for being one of the oldest surviving buildings of its kind. The house was declared a National Monument in 1962 and became a museum in 1964.
The interior presents a picture of an English middle class family in the mid-19th century. The cottage has a restored slate roof and Yellowwood floors and beams. Features of interest include the doll’s house, lace displays, fairy garden, original well, cobbled courtyard, and the kitchen.
