Orient Beach
Description
Orient Beach lies on the south end of the esplanade in the Quigney suburb of East London, Eastern Cape. It was known as Sandy Beach until 1907, when a Russian vessel called the SS Orient ran aground on the shore. The beach is extremely safe and provides excellent waves for surfing. The Orient pier provides the perfect spot for evening strolls and clearing the mind. Facilities include two large circular swimming pools, water slides, ablutions, a refreshment kiosk, and large area of green lawn that provides ample space for everyone, even during the peak season. There are many restaurants and shops located close by.
