Schalkenbosch Estate

Description

Unlike other wine estates, Schalkenbosch has four wine farms under its canopy label, namely Schalkenbosch, Edenhof, Sagtevlei, and Delta. Under this diverse umbrella, you’ll find a stud and cattle farm, a fruit farm, a wheat and barley farm, and then on Schalkenbosch, the vineyards. The Schalkenbosch Estate has recently been awarded a Championship title by the Biodiversity in Wine Initiative, who award those who protect and preserve the indigenous fauna and flora.

Several wine labels that Schalkenbosch Estate produces, such as the ISIS Wines and Edenhof, are imported to Germany, Scandinavia and Vietnam. The estate is wonderful to walk through, with birdsong filling the air, and wildlife like zebras roaming about. Prior booking is required to enjoy wine tastings, with choices available such as Schalkenbosch Stratus 2006.
