Description

Shakaland is an exciting Zulu cultural village in KwaZulu Natal that offers activities like traditional Zulu pottery, beer brewing, hut building, beading, and construction of small hand-held weapons. It also boasts of a scenic view that encompasses the Goedertrou Dam. The dam is an oasis among thorn threes that add to the striking scenic beauty.

Back in 1980 a famous TV series called ‘Shaka Zulu’ led to the current holiday location of Shakaland. This place was the set that was used for this show throughout the time the show was shot. The finale of the show ended with most of the huts getting burnt down, but the best of the houses and huts were saved to form the now famous Shakaland.
