St Lucia Beach
Description
St Lucia Beach offers glorious golden sands that stretch as far as the eye can see in both directions. Located in the coastal town of St Lucia in the Kwa-Zulu-Natal province, the beach boasts a sub-tropical climate with around 300 days of sunshine a year.
The Indian Ocean waters are pleasantly warm, but take care when swimming here as there are rip currents. It is advisable to stay close to shore and avoid rough surf. If you walk north on the inland side of the estuary, you will find the beginning of the highest coastal dunes in the world. To the south, you will find a pleasant stroll to the estuary of the Imfolozi River. Shore-based fishing is very popular along this stretch, especially for shad.
