The Intimate Theatre

Description

The Intimate Theatre forms part of the Drama Department at the University of Cape Town, and is tucked away behind the Little Theatre on Orange Street in Cape Town, Western Cape. The small 75-seater theatre was first built as part of an emergency plan after the drama department studios burnt down in the 1950s. Today, it is primarily used for newly established professionals and for experimental work, hosting a range of dance, music, poetry, and drama productions. The Intimate Theatre has staged a number of new South African works and launched plenty of new and striving performers.
