Tulbagh Winery
Description
Since being founded in 1906, Tulbagh Winery has been creating exquisite wines in the beautiful Tulbagh valley. They are the oldest co-operative cellar within South Africa, and reached their centenarian date in 2006. The farms that produce wines for Tulbagh Winery are spread out across seven different climate zones, ensuring a great mix of flavours; from the crisp but fruity Tulbagh Sauvignon Blanc, to the Tulbagh Shiraz/Pinotage with vanilla and chocolate undertones and top notes of rich plum and berries.
Tulbagh Winery recently won two Double Gold awards for the Klein Tulbagh Merlot 2011, and the Tulbagh Cabernet Sauvignon 2010. They also received three silver awards for their Colombard/Chenin Blanc 2012, Tulbagh Chardonnay 2012, and their Klein Tulbagh Cabernet Sauvignon 2010. Interestingly, they were the first cellar in South Africa to produce sparkling wine.
