"Dorpie kort baie aandag. So jammer!
"This very historic town is well worth a visit. Four time "Best Free State Town" winner, albeit many years ago now, but as a number of the heritage sites are unmarked and poorly presented, it's best to go on a pre-booked tour."
"A lovely little town with great history. A bit run down, but that can change with more people visiting and supporting local businesses."
"Historic town well worth a visit. The people at Ou Kar can give tips on where to go and who to speak to for more information about the town."
"Bethulie is close to the Gariep Dam, and lies adjacent to a magnificent bridge spanning the Orange River. As such, it has considerable potential as a travel destination (as opposed to a mere stopover between Gauteng and the Eastern Cape). However, at present, a sense of stasis and neglect prevails that does not encourage an extended stay, which is a pity. Local authorities could, for example, make a start by attending to the state of the roads leading off the main road. This single civic improvement would support establishments that offer accommodation in the town (and that, obviously, generate revenue within the community)."
"A sad and depressing town but perfect for a stay over on the way to or from Cape Town."
Bethulie is 'n interessante dorpie vol geskiedenis."
Min toeriste-attraksies. Museum is konstant gesluit.
"Pragtige, geskiedkundige dorp. Jammer die strate is in 'n swak toestand."
