View Lodge is situated in the town of Gariep Dam, located halfway between Johannesburg and Cape Town just off the N1. Our establishment is set on the hill, overlooking the Gariep Dam water mass. Come and unwind with fresh air and bright stars with numerous nature reserves in the area. Gariep Dam is also near Colesberg and Bethulie and 180 km south on the N1 from Bloemfontein.
Accommodation is offered in 9 units, 2 of which are fully equipped for a self-catering stay. The other 7 units are offered on a room only basis or semi self-catering. Units 1, 2, 5, 7, 8 and 9 can accommodate 4 guests, all units have 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, with an open-plan kitchen, the remaining rooms can accommodate 2 guests with 1 bedroom and 1 bathroom. Each unit features a microwave, a fridge and tea- and coffee-making facilities.
Breakfast can be booked in advance, although it is not included in this rate and can be settled before departure at the cafe on the premises. The host can recommend a few restaurants for dinner in and around Gariep Dam. There are 3 units with their own portable braai facilities on the balcony, a communal braai area on the deck that also offers 180-degree views of the Gariep Dam and a swimming pool with a braai lapa. Free Wi-Fi internet access and secure parking are provided for the duration of their stay. The premises are under 24-hour surveillance for added peace of mind.
