View Lodge is situated in the town of Gariep Dam, located halfway between Johannesburg and Cape Town just off the N1. The establishment is set on a hill overlooking the Gariep Dam water mass. Guests can unwind with fresh air and bright stars, with numerous nature reserves in the area. Gariep Dam is also near Colesberg and Bethulie and 180 km south on the N1 from Bloemfontein.

Accommodation is offered in 9 units, 2 of which are fully equipped for self-catering stays. The other 7 units are offered on a room-only or semi-self-catering basis. Units 1, 2, 5, 7, 8 and 9 accommodate 4 guests each. All these units have 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, with an open-plan kitchen. The remaining rooms accommodate 2 guests with 1 bedroom and 1 bathroom. Each unit features a microwave, a fridge and tea- and coffee-making facilities.

The host can recommend several restaurants for dinner in and around the Gariep Dam. Three units have portable gas braai facilities on the balcony. There is a communal braai area on the deck offering 180-degree views of Gariep Dam, and a swimming pool with a braai lapa. Free Wi-Fi and secure parking are provided for the duration of the stay. The premises are under 24-hour surveillance for added peace of mind.
