Rhebokskraal Olive Estate
Description
Rhebokskraal Olive Estate is a working olive farm situated 2km outside of McGregor in the Wetsern Cape. The 2500 olive trees are handpicked from April to June. Visitors are welcome to come and pick tow buckets of their own – one to dry and one to cure calamata style. During the months of February and March, Rhebokskraal focuses on their Merlot and Cabernet Wooden red grape juices, as well as hanepoot. The juices are pure fruit juice on tap.
Curing methods
Two curing methods are practised on the farm: Calamata style where the olives are cured in salt water for 8 months to a year, and olives that are dehydrated in salt and dried in the sun.
In the boutique factory, the olives are mixed with herbs, smoked, and marinated in Honey and Balsamic vinegar, chilli, and garlic.
Olive tours
Daily olive tours are held 6 days a week by appointment only. They give visitors the chance to join the family in the olive groves, learn about the history of the olives, visit the factory to view the process, as well as enjoy olive tasting and a 3 course meal under the oak trees. Don’t miss the freshly baked olive bread and pork fillets in olive chutney!

Book a cooking tour and create your own olive delicacies and olive products.
Products
Olive products on the farm include olives in brine, dried olives, bottled olives, olive tree cream, juice, chutneys, olive chocolates, olive leaf extract, and a whole lot more. Don’t forget to pick up some staples from the shop before you leave.
