Saronsberg Cellar
Description
Cocooned by the Saronsberg Mountains of the Tulbagh Valley, Saronsberg Cellar is surrounded by vineyards, ponds, and scenery out of a fairytale. The 15 families who live and work on the farm have been in the wine-making trade before Saronsberg came into being in 2002. They’ve recently won a silver award for their incredible Saronsberg Brut MCC 2009 vintage, at the 2012 Best Sparkling Wines in the World - Effervescents du Monde. This vintage also won a Gold Michelangelo 2012, and a Gold Amorim Cap Classique 2012.
Their tasting room is within the heart of a cellar complex that was built in 2003, and despite its modernised appearance and feel, those who look closely will detect numerous architectural and design influences from yester-year. Tastings are done during the week from 08:00 – 17:00.
