Quaggaskloof & Brandvlei Dams
Description
Quaggaskloof (also spelt Kwaggaskloof) and Brandvlei Dam is considered by many to be the prime smallmouth bass waters in South Africa. Until recently, the dam held the record for having the largest smallmouth bass measuring 3,23kg which was caught in 4m of water in September 1998.
When full, Quaggaskloof is joined to the neighbouring Brandvlei Dam, creating one enormous body of water. When the water drops, the wall is exposed, forming two separate dams and a wall that is an excellent spot for catching fish. Inflatable boat races are often held on the dam, so be sure to check whether there is an event taking place before planning a fishing trip.
